CUSTOM SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT FOR BUSINESSES

Your business shouldn't have to adapt to software. Your software should adapt to your business.

We design and develop software around the way your business actually works — from internal systems and custom CRMs to client portals and operational platforms.

Built around your requirements. AI integration when useful, never compulsory. Security and responsible engineering from the start.

What we build

Custom CRMs, internal business management systems, customer and partner portals, operational dashboards, approval workflows, inventory tools and integrations with existing platforms. Every project starts with the processes, users and requirements it needs to support.

A better fit for your operations

Disconnected tools can mean duplicate data entry, fragmented reporting and manual reconciliation. We assess whether a tailored application, an integration or improvements to existing software would solve the problem. Custom software is not automatically cheaper than subscriptions: development, hosting, support and future changes all matter.

When custom software makes sense

For a property management team, a tailored portal could connect maintenance requests, contractor assignments and status reporting while integrating with existing accounting tools. This is an illustrative example, not a client case study.

For a recruitment team, a custom workflow might connect candidate records, interview coordination and client approvals with role-based access to sensitive applicant information. Existing applicant tracking systems may remain the better option if they already meet the requirements.

For an e-commerce operation, connecting order, stock and returns data through existing APIs may be more economical than replacing the store platform. We compare integration, extension and new-build options before recommending a direction.

A standard SaaS product can be the right choice when requirements are common, implementation speed matters and the vendor covers ongoing updates. Custom development becomes worth evaluating when workflows are distinctive, integrations are limiting or the total cost of workarounds is material.

AI when useful. No AI when it is not.

Choose conventional business software, deterministic workflow automation or carefully scoped AI capabilities such as document processing and assisted search. We assess data handling, human review and operational risk before adding AI. AI is optional. Security is not.

Security and responsible engineering

We design around access controls, authentication, data protection, secure integrations, validation, testing, maintainability and appropriate audit trails. Controls are selected for the application’s risks and regulatory context. No software is risk-free, and security requires ongoing attention.

Build & Own or Build & Managed

Build & Own: receive the agreed deliverables and ownership or licence rights defined in your contract, with optional ongoing support. Build & Managed: we develop, host, maintain and support the application under an agreed service scope. Data ownership, infrastructure, third-party costs, handover and exit arrangements are clarified in the proposal.

How we work

We start with discovery and requirements, map workflows and access needs, agree scope and delivery terms, design the architecture, implement and test, then deploy or hand over. Changes, integrations and ongoing maintenance are planned rather than assumed.

Frequently asked questions

Is custom software always cheaper than SaaS?

No. It can reduce overlapping subscriptions or manual work in some cases, but upfront development, hosting, maintenance and future changes must be included in the total cost of ownership.

Can you build software without AI?

Yes. We build conventional business applications and integrations. AI is optional and recommended only where it has a clear use case.

Can you work with our existing systems?

Yes, where suitable integration options and permissions exist. We can extend, connect or replace systems depending on the requirements.

Who owns the software?

Ownership and licensing are defined in the project agreement. Build & Own and Build & Managed have different delivery and ongoing responsibility arrangements.

How do you protect business and customer data?

We plan appropriate authentication, authorisation, data access controls, secure integration practices and testing based on the system’s risks. Specific requirements and responsibilities are agreed during discovery.

What types of businesses do you work with?

We scope projects around operational needs rather than one industry, including internal systems, CRM workflows, client portals and business process applications.

How much does custom business software cost?

Pricing depends on the scope, number of users, integrations, security requirements and delivery model. We review your requirements and provide a project-specific proposal rather than a fixed price for every application.

How long does it take to develop custom software?

Timelines depend on the complexity, integrations, approval process and testing needs. A focused internal tool may take less time than a multi-module business platform. We discuss milestones and an indicative schedule after discovery.

What is the difference between Build & Own and Build & Managed?

With Build & Own, the agreed software deliverables and ownership or licence rights are handed over under the contract, with support available separately. With Build & Managed, Webbing Studios also provides hosting, maintenance and support under agreed terms.

Do you offer maintenance after launch?

Yes. Maintenance and support can be scoped separately for Build & Own projects or included within an agreed Build & Managed service. Coverage, response arrangements, third-party fees and change requests are defined in the proposal.
